Collier County’s Transportation Network

The major artery is Interstate 75 (I-75), which connects to Tampa and Fort Lauderdale in two hours, and Orlando and Miami in three hours. A parallel thoroughfare is U.S. 41, also known as Tamiami Trail.

Seminole Gulf Railway owns and operates 115 route miles in Southwest Florida. The Fort Myers Line serves customers in De Soto, Charlotte, and Lee Counties and interchanges with CSX Transportation, the national line, at Arcadia. The Sarasota Line runs between Oneco and Venice and interchanges with CSXT at Oneco. Seminole Gulf is the only freight railroad in Southwest Florida and hauls most of the area’s building materials, newsprint, LP gas, plastics, sugar, stone, recycled materials, steel and other commodities.

  • Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) — Fort Myers: Located off of I-75, RSW is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. Today, 12 airlines serve RSW, with nonstop service throughout North America and international service to Canada and Germany.
